Healthy Aging Group
BN2H sponsors a weekly Healthy Aging Group that focuses on strategies for aging well. This group is guided by the 4M Framework for Age-Friendly Care, which encompasses What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility.
Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to:
- Sexual health and aging
- Menopause
- Advanced Directives
- Risks associated with polypharmacy (the use of multiple medications)
- Medications that may be risky for older adults
- Mental health issues such as depression and anxiety
- Cognitive concerns, including dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, delirium, and sundowning
- Fall risk and prevention
- Muscle loss (sarcopenia) and deconditioning
- Aging in place
- Assistive devices such as canes and walkers
