The STAR Health Centers provide coordinated care for people with Hepatitis C virus (HCV).  HCV is a common health problem in Brooklyn; left untreated, it can cause serious liver damage, including liver cancer. With current medications, most people can be cured of HCV with 8-12 weeks of treatment. Because HCV is common and because effective cures are readily available, it is recommended that everyone gets screened for HCV at least once.  If you have or think you may have HCV, we can help. Onsite HCV services include:

• HCV screening
• Comprehensive HCV medical care by a physician with specific expertise in HCV
• Evaluation of drug-drug interactions and assistance with prior authorizations from a clinical pharmacist with expertise in HCV treatment
• Post-treatment evaluation and management
• Mental health services
• Substance use treatment and referrals
